Thailand - Avian Flu Situation as of February 10, 2007 (Link)


Since January 1, to Febuary 8, 2007, the Bureau of Epidemiology has received reports of influenza or pneumonia cases in Avian Influenza Surveillance Network from the Provincial Health Offices and Disease Prevention and Control Regional Offices. The investigation and analysis were summarized as follows:

  • Cumulative number of patients under surveillance are 596 cases 54 provinces; Today reports are 32 cases. Fourteen cases from Phitsanulok, 5 from Suphanburi, 4 from Pathumthani, 2 from Phetchabun, and 1 each from Bangkok metropolis, Nonthaburi, Lopburi, Kanchanaburi, Nakhonsawan, Uthaithani and Nongkhai.
  • Confirmed human case of avian influenza 2006 = 3 cases, with 3 death cases.·  
  • There are 42 cases under investigate reported, of which waiting for laboratory result.
