Thailand - Avian Flu Situation as of February 15, 2007 (Link)


Since January 1, to February 14, 2007, the Bureau of Epidemiology has received reports of influenza or pneumonia cases in Avian Influenza Surveillance Network from the Provincial Health Offices and Disease Prevention and Control Regional Offices. The investigation and analysis were summarized as follows:

  • Cumulative number of patients under surveillance are 691 cases 57 provinces; Today reports are 28 cases. Nine cases from Suphanburi, 4 from Ubonratchathani, 2 each from Nonthaburi, Nakhonnayok and Roiet, and 1 each from Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Chonburi, Phitsanulok, Nakhonsawan, Loei and Nakhonratchasima.
  • Confirmed human case of avian influenza 2006 = 3 cases, with 3 death cases.·  
  • There are 28 cases under investigate reported, of which waiting for laboratory result.
