The interest in bird flu has waned worldwide. This is evident by a sharp drop in the number of articles published on the topic as tracked by NewsNow and other aggregators. Besides a drop in public interest as indicated by the lack of press, over the past year several ominous developments have occurred that could delay the time from pandemic outbreak to its announcement and confirmation. This is ominous because any delay will shorten the time to make final preparations for the pandemic which the US DHHS expects to arrive in the U.S. and all other developed nations within 30 days of outbreak. What a perfect time for the pandemic to strike!
