have some fluwikians ever tried to contribute to
wikipedia-influenza or to follow
their discussion ?
there is lots of discussion at wikipedia about influenza
and H5N1 etc. !

They also have some good and informative pages.
I somehow can't edit,login , but will keep
trying.
We could also merge the wikis !
A mirror of all the wikipedia flu-pages
would be useful.

Knol was announced yesterday(13DEC2007) on Google's official blog. Knol is a unit of knowledge where authurs are not anonymouse but front and center with possible revenue stream.
Google is so huge that any project they start is noticed. Hopefully their Knol will not bleed folks from our wiki nor wikipedia nor any other wikipedia like blog.
While we are streatched thin here, hopefully we can have some input on making Knol and other wiki's better.

as I understand fluwikie originally was mainly
a wiki which was created and edited and the forum
was just a platform to discuss details of this process. However over the time the forum grew
much faster than the wiki and now the wiki
is pretty much outdated and the forum runs
with new software and is mainly contrated upon.
I found some very good birdflu pages at wikipedia
now, which made me wonder whether wikipedia isn't the better fluwiki meanwhile ?
Can we integrate/crosslink the fluwiki
into wikipedia or/and copy the wikipedia
bird flu related stuff over here to fluwiki ?

In lay(wo)man terms, this means people over at wikipedia have some articles regarding H5N1, avian flu, pandemics etc.
Their speciality is "facts, facts only".
Many of them are bound to know the wikipedia really well, and help with linking issues to issues, maybe in a helpful way. I mean, if we write there could be water supply issues then "they" might be interested in providing the best links to deal with that.
So:
- Let's reach out to each other if we can.
- What are some wikipedia pages we could link to?
